Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about the Nourishin app? We've got answers.

Who is the Nourishin app for?

The Nourishin app is for anyone navigating a key life moment – pregnancy, the early arrival of a new baby, postpartum recovery, managing illness, grieving a loss – who could use some practical support from their village of friends and family. It’s designed to make it easy for the people around you to show up in a meaningful way, without the awkwardness of asking.

Yes – a meal drop and a meal train are the same concept, just different names. Both describe a coordinated effort by friends and family to deliver home-cooked meals (or meal deliveries) to someone who needs support. Nourishin makes it easy to set one up, share it, manage dietary preferences, and keep everyone organised.

The term ‘meal drop’ is Nourishin’s cool, Aussie way of asking for someone to just drop over a meal, if and when its convenient for them.

Nourishin is a platform where you can request or provide meal support by organising a meal drop. If you’re the one needing support, you set up your meal drop page – sharing your story, dietary preferences and available time slots – then share the link with your village. Supporters download the app, book a slot and show up. Simple as that.

It also has a Recipe tab with a collection of family friendly recipes alongside some helpful links and printables under the Resources tab.

Once you’ve set up your meal drop, you’ll have a unique link to share directly from your dashboard. Send it via text, WhatsApp, email – wherever your people are. They’ll need to download the Nourishin app and create a free account to book a spot.

Once you’ve created a meal drop event you should have it appear on your dashboard. There will be a couple of options below it for you to choose from, one of them being Edit Details. Just tap that one and it will take you back to the edit screen.

Just make sure that you hit the Save and Exit button at the bottom once you’ve made the changes you need on one of the steps.  Then when you’re ready to share, just hit the share button and it will provide the link and message to invite participants to your meal drop.

Absolutely. When you set up your meal drop you can specify dietary preferences, allergies and any other requirements on step 3 – so supporters know exactly what to bring (and what to avoid).

Yes, during the setup process there are prompts where you can share your favourites, preferences and any meal ideas you’d love.

It takes the guesswork out of everything for your supporters.

Yes, your privacy is our priority. We have security measures in place to protect your personal data. You can review our full Privacy Policy here

Please note, the information you share on your meal drop page will be publicly accessible – so please exercise caution when sharing details on your meal drop event page and where/how you share the meal drop link (i.e. public on social media).

Yes – the Nourishin app is currently free to download and use on iOS and Android.

You can easily invite loved ones to your meal drop by sharing the event page link from your dashboard. Once you hit the share button, you will be prompted to choose how you want to share your link (e.g. WhatsApp/Messenger/Text message, Email, or even copy the link – which you can then add on a Facebook event etc) to then join your circle and can register + book to provide support in the form of food.

Meal support is Nourishin’s focus for now, but you can always use the noticeboard feature within your meal drop to communicate other needs to your supporters. It’s a great way to keep everyone updated on how they can help beyond food.

Yes – Under the Resources tab on the app you’ll find links to Australian professional support services in the mental health and perinatal space.

You can also find a curated list of pregnancy and postpartum support providers through the Nourishin Village directory, also on the Resources tab.

We know not everyone lives around the corner from the recipient (let alone the same city, state or even country) but that’s the beauty of rallying your village on Nourishin.

If you want to provide food via a meal delivery service you can still book a spot the same as everyone else, but we’d recommend that you let the recipient know in the message field so there are no surprises.

With so many regular updates across iOS and Android devices, sometimes a bug will pop up here or there.

If you are having issues within the app (i.e. constantly saving, cannot access your meal drop page), please force quit the app on your device and then reopen, wait a few seconds for the login to reset and then you should be able to access the dashboard again. If you are still having issues, please get in touch with us at support@nourishin.com.au and we will help out.

With the current version of the Nourishin app, a meal drop event is tied directly to your account’s email address. If you wish to create another meal drop event and you are no longer using the previous one, you have 2 options:

1. Unpublish your meal drop event by hitting the “Unpublish Meal Drop” button at the bottom of your Edit Meal drop page. Then go back to the Dashboard and hit the “Create Now” button – editing any of the old pre-filled information to reflect the new meal drop details. Please note, participants who booked a spot previously on the old event will have access to the updated event on their dashboard as the link/ID of the updated meal drop will be the same. You will also see previous bookings on the event if you had any. You can contact us via email support@nourishin.com.au  if you’d like us to reset any previous bookings.

2. Log out of your account in the Nourishin app and create a new account using a different email address. This will allow the creation of a fresh account with space for a brand new meal drop event + link, the account email will just need to be verified via login. This option works best for those who would like to create multiple events on behalf of their clients/friends – e.g. Doulas/midwives/naturopaths/nutritionists etc.

We are working to make this process smoother in a future update.
