Who is the Nourishin app for?

The Nourishin app is for expecting and new young families who could use some support through a meal train.

It’s designed to create connection between these people and their village of friends and family in an intuitive way – no matter if they’re pregnant or in the midst of postpartum, recovering from illness, healing from injury or even grieving the loss of a loved one.

Yes, a meal drop and a meal train refer to the same concept. Both terms are used interchangeably to describe a system where friends, family, or community members coordinate to provide meals for someone in need.

The idea is to make it easier for individuals or families during times when they may be facing challenges and could use some nourishment with a home cooked meal. The Nourishin app facilitates this process by allowing users to create and participate in meal drops within their trusted village of friends and family. The term ‘meal drop’ is Nourishin’s cool, Aussie way of asking for someone to just drop over a meal, if and when its convenient for them.

Nourishin is platform where you can request OR provide meal assistance through organising a meal drop (aka organising a meal train). You can create a meal drop to seek support or join an existing meal drop event with the private link.

Those seeking support with a meal drop can easily provide details like their dietary preferences and drop off location – then share updates on their noticeboard and more. We makeit easy to communicate with their village through the meal drop and keep everyone in the loop, privately.

To access your meal drop page, you must share the meal drop page’s unique link with your friends and family. This can be sent easily through text message, Email, a Facebook event, or even through scanning a QR code that you can create.

They will then need to download the Nourishin app and register in order to book a spot to support. Don’t worry, it only take a few mins to get setup!

Once you’ve created a meal drop event you should have it appear on your dashboard. There will be a couple of options below it for you to choose from, one of them being Edit Details. Just tap that one and it will take you back to the edit screen.

Just make sure that you hit the Save and Exit button at the bottom once you’ve made the changes you need on one of the steps.  Then when you’re ready to share, just hit the share button and it will provide the link and message to invite participants to your meal drop.

Absolutely! When you create a meal drop event, you can specify dietary preferences, allergies or other requests/restrictions on step 3 to ensure that the meals align with you and your family’s needs.

On Step 3 of the meal drop setup process, there are 3 prompts – your preferences and favourites, dietary requirements and/or allergies and a desert island snack question. Within these you can include any food/ingredient/meal requests in as much detail as you like! The “desert island snack” question is where you can share your favourite treats/snacks additionally.

Yes, your privacy is our priority. We have stringent privacy policies and security measures in place to protect your personal information. You can review our Privacy Policy within the app for more details on data handling and security, or visit the page here. Please note that the information you share on your meal drop page will be publicly accessible – so please exercise caution when sharing details on your noticeboard or meal drop event page.

Nourishin will be offering a full-featured FREE trial of our app after launch. However, our subscription model will be activated for added convenience and benefits in 2025. Get in quick and give it a try!

You can easily invite loved ones to your meal drop by sharing the event page link from your dashboard. Once you hit the share button, you will be prompted to choose how you want to share your link (e.g. WhatsApp/Messenger/Text message, Email, or even copy the link – which you can then add on a Facebook event etc) to then join your circle and can register + book to provide support in the form of food.

While Nourishin’s primary focus is currently on meal drops, you can communicate your needs and request assistance from your circle of support within the app for a wide range of support services. We would love to hear your feedback or any ideas you might have for the Nourishin app via email, or send us a message via our social channelss.

You can find links to Australian professional support services within the mental health space under the resources tab. Please note we are not directly affiliated with these organisations, we simply feel that their support service aligns with our values.

We know not everyone lives around the corner from the recipient (let alone the same city, state or even country!) but that’s the beauty of the digital village you invite to your meal drop. Participants who want to provide food via a seperate meal delivery service can still book a day in the same as everyone else, but we’d recommend that you make a note in the booking message stating that a delivery will be arriving, and when it will likely arrive.

With so many regular updates across iOS and Android devices, sometimes a bug will pop up here or there. Our current login protocol will only keep you logged into the Nourishin app for 3 days before requiring you login again.

If you are having issues within the app (i.e. constantly saving, cannot access your meal drop page), please force quit the app on your device and then reopen, wait a few seconds for the login to reset and then you should be able to access the dashboard again. If you are still having issues, please get in touch with us at support@nourishin.com.au and we will assist you!

With the current version of the Nourishin app (which is the MVP – minimum viable product), a meal drop event is tied directly to your account’s email address. If you wish to create another meal drop event and you are no longer using the previous one, you have 2 options:

1. Unpublish your meal drop event by hitting the “Unpublish Meal Drop” button at the bottom of your Meal drop event page. Then hit the “Create Now” button on the dashboard – editing the old pre-filled information to reflect new meal drop details. Please note, participants who booked a spot previously on the old event will have access to the updated event on their dashboard as the link/ID of the updated meal drop will be the same.

2. Log out of your account in the Nourishin app and then create a new account from the home page, using a different email address. This will allow the creation of a fresh meal drop event + link, the account email will just need to be verified via login. This also works well for individuals who would like to create multiple events on behalf of their clients/friends – e.g. Doulas/midwives/naturopaths/nutritionists etc.
